Luckily, Governor Sarah Palin has already been cleared of all wrongdoing.
Officer Barbrady, The Onion, and 80s-era Pravda are all very proud.

Sarah Palin has ties to the most extreme, radical rightwing groups in America, including the Alaska Independence Party and their agenda of anti-taxes, gun ownership, traditional families, and seceding from the USA. Palin was backed by the John Birch Society and the Ku Klux Klan.
While it’s tempting to laugh off her ties to these groups, the fact of the matter is, Palin paid back these lunatic, fringe groups for their support by letting them alter and draft bills and legislation and even trying to install a member of the AIP on the Wasilla, AK city council.
Sarah Palin is extremely dangerous and cannot be allowed anywhere near the White House. Let FOX Noise reward her with her own TV show the way they did Oliver North but her political career needs to draw down.

Chris, but does she wear panties?

Oh, no! Not traditional families!! No taxes? PLEASE!! Me, too! Last I checked, gun ownership was still in the constitution. All I can say about seceding from the USA is sign me up - I’d like to secede from New York State.
Look, you wan to throw the KKK her way, I’ll lay down Weather Underground - you say lunatic fringe groups, I’ll say ACORN.
You’re afraid of her because you know she speaks to a large segment of the US population, the type the Daily Show likes to make fun of and the Allentown Birkenstock crowd looks down their nose on. You know them - - they’re the ones who voluntarliy sent their sons and daughters to Iraq and Afganistan so the 50 something hippy throw backs can sip latte and watch their IRAs nose dive.
The Humanist Says:October 10th, 2008 at 9:04 am
@Jim - so you support her stance, as mayor of Wasilla, to make rape victims pay for their post-assault medical exams?
Or for that matter, her stance that rape victims should carry their rapist’s baby to term?
Yeah, she speaks to a large segment all right - idiots and fundamentalist nutjobs that would like nothing better than to bring back witch burnings.
Nice false conflation of Gov. Mooseburger and the families of our troops. Wonder why the troops are giving more to Obama than McCain at a 6-1 clip

Why not start by seceding from this thread? thanks!
Jim H Says:October 10th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Thanks, Mr. Snarky - my kids loved you on Barney, BTW.
The attacks on Palin are so venemous, they seem to me, not to be borne of ideological differences, but of fear - - fear that alot of people in fly-over country share her values.
Why do you think the attacks by the right on Clinton were so nasty? Because he was effective in promoting his ideology. I think the situation is analogous now with Palin.
@Humanist, please send the link that shows the troops support Obama, 6:1 - I’m intrigued - I tried to locate that figure and couldn’t find it.
The Humanist Says:October 10th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
@ Jim -
here you go: http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/08/troops-deployed-abroad-give-61.html
BTW, you bet your bippy I’m fearful of Palin….fearful that a singularly unqualified, fundie whackjob like her could occupy the Oval Office if Old Man Yelling At Clouds McCain accidentally overdoses on the Ambien. But it’s laughable to compare our clamoring for her to submit to ONE press conference or give more media interviews so we can determine what she stands for to promoting Clinton death lists and joking, as Senator McCain did, that the then-17 year old Chelsea Clinton was so ugly because Janet Reno was her father. Just to name two of …A BILLION. Really.
STEEL Says:October 10th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
What attacks have been made on Palin?
Is questioning her credentials considered to be an attack?
Is expecting her to be able to answer reasonable questions from the press considered an attack?
Can you imagine if Obama complained about every hard - strike that - EVERY question asked by the press? The right would be slobbering themselves with laughter. She is asking to be backup to the most important job in the world. So far she has stated credentials as PTA, Maverick, Russia is nearby, Canada is closer, executive experience (a full 2 years of a small state plus mayor of a small town the size of one street in NYC) kids play hockey, once had a layover in Ireland.
The right has contempt for the entire American system. They have tried to usurp the power of congress, politicized law enforcement and tried to take over the courts. They disdain the press (our only means of checking the power of government) The only part of the constitution they ever mention is the part that allows ownership of guns. I am sure they would dump the freedom of the press part in an instant if they could.
Which do you think keeps us free -Freedom of the press or the right to own guns?

how many times zones away is alaska??? they’ve got to release that baby by 5pm cob their time, right?
mama’s going get a nice glass of pinot grigo, tuck the kiddies in and enjoy the report. oh yes, yes i am.
ahhhhhhh, let’s just hope the economy doesn’t completely overshadow the incriminating report… you know, abuse of power, etc.
by the way, any labor lawyers out there. what right does todd palin have looking into personal matters/records of state employees. i have yet to read he was anything more than the governor’s wife, i mean, husband. really, i’d be pretty pissed if my boss’ husband was butting into my business.
buffalomom Says:October 10th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
btw, there are some really great comments in this thread to get you good and fired up for the report.

2:15 p.m.: Rep. Nancy Dahlstrom just told us to expect to wait another hour before we hear anything.
That’s Alaska time… http://community.adn.com/adn/node/132527
buffalomom Says:October 10th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
3 p.m.: So here’s something to consider while we wait for the Legislative Council to vote — and yes, we’re still waiting:
The council needs eight votes to release the investigator’s report. Three members of the 14-member council aren’t here — Rep. Ralph Samuels, Rep. John Harris and Rep. John Coghill.
Unless they called in after the meeting started, that means they’re automatic “no votes.”
So what’s going on behind those doors? Do they have enough votes to make the report public?
Sen. John Cowdery isn’t here, but phoned in.
Also: Someone is handing out granola bars to reporters. Everyone had a caffiene crash about an hour ago, but they opened a door to a soda machine and we all bought Diet Dr. Peppers.
2:15 p.m.: Rep. Nancy

3:55 p.m.: You can stream audio of the meeting here. http://www.ktoo.org/gavel/audio.cfm
3:45 p.m. The leg council just opened it’s doors. We’re expecting a vote …
buffalomom Says:October 10th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
okay, so it’s just me out here while everyone else is at the sabres’ game… sigh.
buffalomom Says:October 10th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
12-0 to release all of it except that which is deemed confidential. so much for my reading material for tonight!
Jim H Says:October 10th, 2008 at 11:39 pm
Much happened tonight while I was at the Sabres game (look for me - I have seasons in section 110 - I’m the one with the horns - - BTW is there something we can agree on? Isn’t it time we cut that china-doll Tim Connolly loose?)
I see the report concluded she abused her power. If so, she deserves what she gets.
Cheers!

anyone see the television ratings for this week’s presidential debate?
or the first presidential debate?
they were eclipsed by the record ratings for the vp debate, and believe me, nobody was tuning in to watch poor old joe lieber, um, i mean biden stutter and stumble.
so some obama supporters up in alaska have concluded that an investigation initiated by the dems found palin to be a bad person?
bfd.
i got two words for you — ACORN.
WNYPMH Says:October 12th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
If the report found that she was a bad person, I concur, after watching her get the crowd going enough that they yelled things like “terrorist” and “kill him”. At least McCain had the common decency to call the freaks out on the scary behavior and tell them that they were wrong.
And by the way, Hudson, ACORN is one word. You’re seeing double again. Call a cab.
