Listening to America

Be part of the Obama campaign by participating in meetings in the area to help contribute to this year’s platform. All you have to do is show up and discuss the issues that matter to you, and this information is then passed along to the Obama campaign. It’s called “Listening to America“.

There is a Listening to America meeting tonight at Batavia’s City Centre tonight at 7:30 pm.

There is one in Buffalo tomorrow (the 24th) at 6pm at 927 Grant St. in Buffalo (the Polish Cadets Hall off the Scajaquada).

Here’s an issue that matters to me: frank lies told by your candidate.

While on his Magical History Tour today in Sderot, Israel, and boasting of “my deeds”, Sen. Obama boasted of legislation regarding divestment in Iran, which “Just this past week we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee …”.

Just one small problem — if you check the membership of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, you don’t find a single Barack Obama listed. http://banking.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Information.Membership

What gives with your candidate? Did he “misspeak”? Did he “forget” that he’s not a member of “my committee”? (I know he hasn’t showed up to do his job on Pennsylvania Avenue in some time, but really …)

Sorry, but I won’t be showing up to “help contribute to this year’s platform”. Let us know how it goes, eh?

Congratulations….hang on to that little nugget while the rest of us try to figure out how the alleged “foreign policy” expert in the election is so confused about when the surge in Iraq actually started:

(by they way, that Sunni sheik that McCain mentioned who was saved by the surge? That would be one Abdul Sattar Abu Risha….who was killed in September 2007 in a bomb attack in Anbar, as the Great Surge was proceeding forward)

Also noteworthy is how McCain sees fit not only to insult Obama and question his patriotism:

“It seems to me that Senator Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign”

That is a fucking outrageous thing for any Republican slime merchant to say, let alone the party’s presumptive candidate. Let’s not forget that McCain is not only insulting Obama….he’s spitting in the face of the clear majority in this country who want out of Iraq, preferably on the kind of clear timetable that Obama and the Maliki government are endorsing:

In his desperation, McCain just insulted hundreds of millions of Americans.

But’s that’s par for the course for the “Maverick”…here’s a trip down memory lane to depict how this charlatan has given us everything other than “Straight Talk”:
