Barbie v. Bratz
I thought this was funny, only because of my extreme disdain for the entire “Bratz” doll franchise, which is so whorish (I call them “Horz”) that Barbie is a nun by comparison.
A California court ruled that the creator of Bratz dolls, Carter Bryant, came up with the idea while he was working for Mattel.
It means that Mattel could be awarded millions of dollars when the jury comes to consider damages.
MGA Entertainment could even be stopped from selling the popular large-headed, multi-ethnic, urban fashion dolls.
Mattel had claimed that the name and design of Bratz dolls were based on drawings done by Carter Bryant while he was under a contract that entitled the world’s biggest toymaker to his designs.
Mattel shares rose 4.4% in after-hours trading.

I read about this before the ruling. I got a kick out of the fact that that the Bratz “inventor” came up with the idea while he was on a 3 month leave (or somehow not employed by Mattel for a brief period). His argument sounded pretty weak at that time.
What induced me to read the article was your comments about Bratz / Horz, which I thought was pretty amusing.
It seems the Horz can no longer be holdin’ out on their pimps at Mattel.

I have also read that this may been seen as a mistrial because of a disgunted juror they had to kick off the case due to her racial slurs. So we will have to wait and see what happens at the end of this case. This case is not done yet.
