Hank, thanks for the kudos. I understand your sentiments about what the terminal deserves, but we believe that sponsoring events not only retains the building's spot as a useful community asset, but also serves to increase awareness to our cause and provide us with much needed resources (money, additional volunteers) to keep it all going.

We have been successful recently in attracting interest from local and international developers and while no clear redevelopment proposal is on the table, we believe that we are closer than we have ever been to finding the right combinations of public and private support necessary to begin a phased redevelopment approach. This will not be easy or quick, but our group has the drive and the staying power to see it through for another 10 years, if that is what it takes.

All these goings on---Kudos Mike M and CTRC.

But (and no dig against ALL the good that Mike and CTRC are trying to do)

Is this what the Terminal deserves? Why can't local leaders and the "100 people who run Buffalo" get some inside and outside help and turn the Terminal into what it SHOULD be--A mixed use building that, like was done with Shea's, returned to the Jewel that it was in the 20's and 30's.

Oh, sorry. Forgot. This could anchor development of old Polonia. The demographic might change as property values increase, and urban renewal could fan out across the East Side...St Stan's and the Terminal are just dry twigs waiting for the spark of investment--why do the local pols ignore it? The People apparently don't.

I loved going to the beer fest last year. One thing we have up on NYC is that they were retarded enough to tear down the old Penn Station in 1964 but we still have ours. It's old and sick, but still alive.

Thanks for posting, Alan! We're busy preparing the terminal for the busy season ahead. Work with BOCES on the restroom project (soon we'll have 6 working toilets of our own) continues all winter. Stay tuned to www.buffalocentralterminal.org for updates on ongoing projects and events.

Damn-- all of these events are things where people will be dressed. The best way to enjoy the Central Terminal is naked.
