Barenaked Ladies and unionized elfs… how could it get any better

Two of my favorite Christmas songs of the past:
Drifters (White Christmas, 1954)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jctccnyun5g&NR=1
Perry Como (Christmas Dream, 1974 version) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS8OM9_38VM

That would be a no. The Vince Guaraldi Trio songs are still within 50 years.
This is very nice, however.

My vote goes to ‘Gun for Christmas’ by the Vandals.

uh, no, it’s not. chuck berry’s “run run rudolph” came out in ‘58, elvis’ “blue christmas” came out in ‘57 though it was written nine years earlier and then of course there’s “santa’s got the aids this year” by tiny tim. that’s off the top of my head.

OK. So, let’s say the last 30 years.
And I remember them playing the Tiny Tim song on Stern 15 years ago. Just totally whacked out tune by a whacked out guy.

BNL don’t rate any kind of “Best of..” honors - ever. They are nerds and they’re not really as clever as all that.
BTW, Alvin & Chipmunks - The Chipmunk Song (Christmas don’t be late) 1958. They were nerds also, but they were cartoons. What’s BNL’s excuse?
mike hudson Says:December 29th, 2007 at 10:58 am
what was it about 1958?
run run rudolph, santa’s gotta make it to town
santa make him hurry, tell him take the freeway down
and eric was entirely right about bnl. not just nerds, but nerds getting a bit long in the tooth, which is sad.
