Michael Cole (R-Assembly 142) Update

Assemblyman Michael Cole was formally censured and admonished Thursday for spending the night in the Albany apartment of an Assembly intern.
The Alden Republican, who has denied physical contact with the 21-year-old unnamed intern, was removed as the ranking Republican on the Assembly Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. Cole stayed in the woman’s apartment after a night of drinking at an Albany bar while watching a Buffalo Sabres game.
In addition, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, accepted other sanctions recommended unanimously by the Assembly ethics committee against Cole, including banning him and his office from any further participation in the Assembly’s intern program, forfeiture of any rights and seniority privileges and a public letter of censure and admonition.

I find the hypocrisy here hilarious. all of the sudden Sheldon Silver is the intern police. Who censured him when he tried to cover-up his right hand man raping 2 of them?

Now, you need to have a strong Democrat run against Cole. Then, he’ll probably lose his seat. If he doesn’t, I’d be shocked.

he’s an attorney and he’ll lie til someone can come up with proof otherwise, and that ain’t happening either. so “drunk” he could walk her home….because she was drunk. Just how stupid does he think we are.
sure, there’s nothing illegal with seeing a 21 year old, so its not criminal. bad judgement…you bet.
I’m sure his home life is just rosy too, becuase we all no how wives believe such stories too.

Since the intern is “unnamed”, I’ll bet she pops up somewhere else in exchange for her silence. Probably already taken care of. Boy … she learned all about the dirty side of politics right out of the gate.

Buffalo geek. . love to know where you get your inside information about the intern who likes to be “tickled.” This girl does have friends and family that know about the situation. Even though she does need to accept some of the blame. . .where are the morals and ethics of the assemblyman. He knew better, these interns are young and trying to make a good impression to further their career. I would love to know your sources.. . or keep your opinions to yourself

If you read between the lines at what Albanygirl is saying……she is pretty much admitting what the “Assemblyman” is denying. What does he need to have “morals” for IF he JUST slept on her floor and NOTHING more happened.
Come on people, we ALL know that MORE happened than just an innoncent drunk night and “sleeping” it off on the floor. His wife, what a shame that she could ACTUALLY believe this idiot!!! SHAME ON HER.
