What a joke

Well, forget it, I guess.

If you’re a politico in WNY, you can basically get away, scot-free, with just about any ethical malfeasance you can think of. Including ramming a $3,000,000 sweetheart no-bid deal through the legislature, and funnelling hundreds of thousands of dollars that are supposed to stay in the community to a Texas basketball camp owned by your brother .

What’s even more troubling and pathetic is that the aforementioned politico is up for re-election this year; and he’s probably a shoo-in.

WGRZ is reporting that Holt won’t face any indictments. The FBI in New Orleans, which was partly responsible for the investigation, is in disarray in the aftermath of Katrina.

The federal investigation into at least two county matters involving Holt has been underway since early this year.

But the source tells Channel 2’s Scott Brown that “it’s going nowhere.”

The same source adds that while Holt “may not have done anything illegal, whether he acted unethically or immorally is another question entirely.”

The FBI and grand jury had been looking into a budget resolution Holt pushed involving a New Orleans company, as well as a basketball camp run by Holt’s son that received county funding.
